digital signage market. The browser-based interface allows American Signature to schedule and distribute content to any number of the Firefly units, either individually or in groups.

American Signature uses Panasonic cameras to record content and then edits with Avid Express.  The finished product is then loaded into the hard drive of the Firefly MZ.  Eight channels of video are output through modulators to a Dracom combiner and then distributed to monitors strategically placed throughout each store.  Each department selects which of the eight channels should be viewed within its area.

The cost-effective system, along with the creative use of sets and backgrounds, allows potential customers to visualize the use of American Signature products in their homes.  The end result is the purchase of furniture groupings and accessories, turning the browsing prospect into a valued customer.  Industrial Video is pleased that American Signature has chosen it as a partner for all of its U.S. locations.

Upgrades to Peace Lutheran

In years past, Peace Lutheran Church of Gahanna had established a relationship with Industrial Video Corporation through the purchase and installation of projection and audio equipment.  When the construction of a new addition required major video and audio installations, Industrial Video was chosen to help Peace Lutheran present their message on a larger scale.

The new Life Center is a large assembly hall in which seating can be configured in innumerable ways. The challenge was to provide quality audio throughout the large room while structuring the video for maximum viewing regardless of the seating arrangement, all within the budget of the church.

The audio goal was accomplished through the integrated use of selected audio lines and varied models within those lines.
A Marantz CD Player provides the high quality audio signal that is routed through a Mackie mixer.  Tannoy and Electrovoice speakers were chosen for their quality of sound reproduction and their responsiveness in such a setting.  Two different models of Crown's Com-Tech Series power amplifier offer independent selection of high- and low-impedance operation for a specific channel, with power levels and features carefully chosen to perfectly integrate into the fixed installation design requirements.  A Symetrix 8X8 DSP was selected as a high performance crossover/system processor; the 8x8 DSP has 8 analog audio inputs

and outputs and a powerful DSP engine. To provide the video flexibility required, Industrial Video established ten different locations for video projectors, with power and a CAT-5 distribution system going to each location.  Five Sharp 3000 ANSI projectors were placed in the initial configuration designated by the church.  Each projector is capable of easily being moved to any of the ten different locations, allowing the church to provide viewing on any side or any combination of sides as desired.

The
Life Center was designed to be flexible for any program or event.  Thanks to Industrial Video, Peace Lutheran has the ability to configure the center in multiple ways and know their audio visual systems can easily adapt.  It’s a great example of big picture thinking and how Industrial Video likes to turn their clients’ challenges into innovative solutions.

American Signature Stores face competition from mega corporations such as Walmart, J.C. Penney and Sears.  In order to face these giants and turn visitors into buyers, American Signature is implementing visual digital media merchandising throughout its twenty stores across the United States and has chosen Industrial Video as its technical partner.
